e-Learning

e-Learning is the general term to describe learning using computer technology; the learning process may involve network/internet based content/lecture delivery model or using stand alone computer (without network connectivity) based delivery (using CDs or files that are pre-downloaded and used without network connectivity while learning).

In stand alone content delivery model learning is limited to the content provided in the distributed files, there is no scope for interacting with other student or teachers to discuss and share knowledge. In network based e-learning model students have access to the course content any time as long as they have access to the server/website. Students can discuss and share knowledge with other students and have access to teachers irrespective of time and place as they can post messages in the discussion forums or lecture discussion boards, teachers can respond to those messages at their convenient time. This interactive e-learning approach enhances student's ability to explore, learning and at the same time students improve their communication and interactive learning skills.

iSmartLearn incorporates network based content delivery model in its core learning engine which is integrated with several interactive discussion methods. These interactive discussion methods allow users to share knowledge/ideas with other students, participate in active discussions and have access to teacher/lectures irrespective of time and place.
